I Am The Light Of The World
Sep. 7th, 2006 03:06 pmAbout that haircut I needed...

Ah. Much better. A special thanks to
secret_malady and her magic hands for sculpting my fierce locks into a manageable form. Now if only she could do something about that bloated drunkard's face I've suddenly acquired...
My life is a frenzy right now. A FRENZY! The video tabloid job is in limbo due to a scheduling dispute with our boss (a maniacal ex-showgirl and radio-voiceover godhead), and although I've put in applications and scheduled interviews at various employment voids all over Lawrence, I'm starting to feel like my pet cat when he chases his own tail for hours on end. My cat is inbred, so he has an excuse. What's MY problem, pray tell?
A fast note from the Bright Side: As of last weekend, my daughter has a new stepdad, and her mother is all smiles. My heart cheers for the whole family, but harbors secret hopes that their Happily Ever After will involve a rapid migration from the small town hell that is their central Kansas home. I know M.M. (Now M.C.) has always dreamed of moving to the Great Southwest, but if all else fails, I hear that the weather in Larryville is quite beautiful this time of year...
I was given the thumbs-up to host another eight-hour scary-movie-thon at the Jackpot this October. If all goes well (I'm planning a full-fledged MEDIA BLITZ! for the event), it will be an even larger brouhaha than last year (which, admittedly, was less of a brouhaha and more of a slumber party)... I'm working on fliers, newspaper ads, maybe even a radio spot or two.
I've even planned my schedule a full month ahead of time:
5:00 HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN
6:15 BLOOD OF DRACULA
7:30 Intermission!
7:45 THE CORPSE GRINDERS
9:00 MOTEL HELL
10:45 THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE PART TWO
I'm going to pad the spaces between films with old drive-in movie ads and some "classic" short films that I have buried somewhere in my collection.
I'm about due for some new LJ icons, don't you think? Help me out with some ideas, kids...
